Suivez le Kilométrage de vos Chaussures Avant que vos Genoux le Paient

Les chaussures de course usées causent des blessures. Le suivi d'équipement de Garmin Connect envoie une alerte quand vos chaussures atteignent leur limite kilométrique.
Day 16: Shoe Mileage Tracking in Garmin Connect
"Still running on worn-out shoes? Garmin can warn you before your knees do."
Running shoe midsoles lose their cushioning and support over time, usually between 500–800km depending on the shoe, your weight, and running surface. Running past that point is one of the most common causes of shin splints, knee pain, and stress fractures.
Garmin Connect tracks this automatically.
How to set it up
- Open Garmin Connect app
- Go to More → Gear → Add Gear
- Name your shoes, add brand/model, and set a maximum distance (e.g., 600km)
- Assign the gear to your Run or Treadmill activity type
Now every run you log automatically adds to your shoe's odometer. When you hit the limit, Garmin Connect sends you a notification.
Track multiple pairs
You can add as many pairs as you own. Great for runners who rotate between a daily trainer, a race shoe, and a trail shoe. Each pair gets its own counter.
Don't ignore the alert
Most runners squeeze "just a bit more" out of worn shoes. Don't. The foam is compressed, the outsole is worn, and the support structure is gone — even if the upper still looks fine. New shoes feel uncomfortable for a reason: your feet are readjusting to proper support.
