Track Hydration on Your Garmin Watchface With Hydration PRO

Garmin can remind you to drink, but Hydration PRO can also share your daily progress with compatible watchfaces such as Goals 8.
Day 90: Keep Hydration Visible on Your Garmin
Garmin's own Hydration Tracking app can record drinks, set a daily goal, and send reminders on compatible watches. That works well when you remember to open the glance. The limitation is that third-party watchfaces cannot read Garmin's native hydration total.
Hydration PRO takes a different approach: it tracks its own hydration total and can publish that progress to selected compatible watchfaces.
What the free version includes
- Up to five quick-add drink inputs.
- Different colors for water, coffee, soft drinks, and other drink types.
- An undo action for an accidental entry.
- A glance view on compatible devices.
- Data sharing with supported watchfaces.
The optional Pro license adds reminder alerts, weekly and monthly views, activity-day goal adjustments, and CSV export.
Show the progress on Goals 8
Goals 8 is one watchface that can display Hydration PRO as a gauge on recent compatible Garmin devices. Configure one of its data fields for hydration and sync both apps. Your daily progress then remains visible whenever you check the time.
On supported touchscreen watches, a long press on the hydration gauge can open the corresponding app. Add the drink there using one of your preset amounts, then return to the watchface.
Important: the two hydration totals are separate
Hydration PRO is not linked to Garmin's official Hydration Tracking data, because Garmin does not expose that feature through the Connect IQ developer tools. Drinks recorded in Hydration PRO therefore do not appear in Garmin Connect's native hydration history.
Choose one system as your main log to avoid maintaining two conflicting totals. Use Garmin's app if native Garmin Connect history matters most. Use Hydration PRO if watchface visibility and its additional reminders matter more.
Set reminders that fit your day
A reminder only helps when it produces a useful action. Set a reasonable daily goal, create quick-add sizes that match the bottles and cups you actually use, and avoid alerts so frequent that you learn to ignore them.
Hydration needs vary with body size, weather, activity, sweat rate, diet, and health. The app is a logging tool, not a medical recommendation. During long or hot exercise, plan fluids and electrolytes for the conditions rather than relying only on a generic daily target.
