Day 94: See Live Sports Scores on Your Garmin Watch

Here's a Garmin feature many owners never discover: the Sport Scores glance. When your watch is paired with your phone, it pulls live scores, upcoming fixtures, and league standings straight to your wrist — perfect for the times you can't watch the match live.

What the Sport Scores glance shows

Once set up, the glance lets you follow your favourite teams across a customisable list of up to 15 different sports leagues. You can see when the next game kicks off, check the live score during a match, and review current standings — all without pulling out your phone.

The data is delivered through Garmin Connect over your phone's connection, so your watch needs to be paired and within Bluetooth range (and your phone online) for scores to update.

How to add the Sport Scores glance

  1. From the watch face, scroll through your glances (up or down depending on your model).
  2. Scroll to the bottom and open Edit, or hold the menu button and choose to edit your glances.
  3. Choose Add, then scroll down and select Sport Scores.
  4. Open the glance and pick the leagues and teams you want to follow.

Menu names vary slightly by model, but the path is broadly the same across supported watches.

Following a team — World Cup example

To follow a national team during a tournament like the World Cup, open the Sport Scores glance, choose the international competition, then pick your country. From then on the glance shows the next kick-off time and the live score whenever a match is on. (Go Belgium!)

Which Garmin watches support Sport Scores?

  • fēnix 8 (AMOLED and Solar editions)
  • fēnix 8 Pro (AMOLED and MicroLED editions)
  • fēnix E
  • Forerunner 170 and Forerunner 170 Music
  • Forerunner 570

  • Enduro 3
  • tactix 8 (AMOLED, Solar, and Cerakote editions)
  • quatix 8 and quatix 8 Pro
  • D2 Mach 2 and D2 Mach 2 Pro

Garmin expands feature availability over time through firmware updates, so check Garmin's official Sport Scores support page for the most current device list. If your watch isn't listed, make sure it's running the latest software first.

Don't see the glance?

If Sport Scores doesn't appear, confirm your watch is on the latest firmware via Garmin Connect, that it's paired with your phone, and that your region and chosen leagues are supported. A quick sync usually brings the glance to life.

Thinking about upgrading to a watch that supports it? Compare the models side by side first.
